Our Seasonal Update!

Well, stuff with us Cedar City Beenfields have been going great! Still just plugging away - work is going good for both of us, and John just finished up his finished final's week with a bang! He did really well in all of his classes, but I'm especially proud of what my baby got in some of the hardest classes a person can take - he got an A in chemistry, the highest grade (an A as well) in his biology class! Who's wearing the smarty-pants now, huh? And he's simply AMAZING in his graphic design class - I'll put on some of his artwork, if I can. He made some beautiful art pieces with photoshop from some aspens this last fall.
I recently started selling Usborne Children's books...Ok, I actually became a consultant like 6 months ago, but only recently woke up to how truly awesome these books are and have loved selling them. That's really the only new thing in my life.
We're keeping busy - we went on a really fun date the other night! Our plan was to go to a coffee shop and get hot coco then walk around Cedar City's beautiful lit up main street and go to all the cute little shops. Well, all the shops were closed, but instead there was a night time Light Parade! It was completely enchanting. That's pretty much the latest with us - stay tuned for more come spring!

A Beanie Baby!!!

It's a really exciting time right now for the Beenfield clan. The family just keeps getting bigger and bigger. And now . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . John's cousin and his wife had a baby! Ha! Wait, did you think I was implying about US?! John and I?!?!No, not yet, but did I trick you into looking at my blog? 'Cause let's confess, babies news and pictures are definately the what gets blogspot most of it's attention. No, someday I will have a purpose in having a blog, but not yet, right now I'll just tell you about our amazing summer since it has been so long since we've updated this! We worked hard and played hard - no big vacations, but plenty of daily adventures. We've seen family for Father's Day and camping, at Fish Lake, at the Judd Cabin in Brighton, Utah, all of which was amazing!!!! It was great to spend that time with family. Brighton is one of my favorite places in the world, so that was particuallary wonderful. We also rocked up the summer with friends on trips to Sand Hallow - a big lake where you can go cliff jumping-, Toquerville Falls - one of Utah's hidden treasures, it's an awesome waterfall that you can swim in!-, hugh swings that if you use at night you can swing out over the lit up Cedar City into the stars! We got free tickets to see Harry Potter and some Shakespearian Festival plays - John saw his first Shakespeare play, As You Like It, and he really liked it! We've made homemade ice cream, visited Bryce National Park, BBQed, moved downstairs, gone to a close friends wedding, hiked, and read Harry Potter! Everyday has had it's own adventures and we've just been really happy with what each day has brought us. Pretty much, life is good, and we are happy and blessed. :)

This picture is from when John and I played a game and put high stakes to it, and for the third time in our whole marriage I actually won!!! And he had to paint my toenails pink with white flowers. Didn't he do such a great job!?
Wow, I'm a grad!!!!!!!!

This is at the St. George temple!

If you like Pina Coladas . . .

It's been ages since I've updated this since John and I lost the chord that hooks our camera up to our computer, so I have no new fun pictures to show. But here's the latest happenings with us and hopefully I'll be able to add pictures later. We had a great week, now that the elementary school that I work at is out for the summer Johnny and I are getting a lot more time together, which is just the best :) This weekend was particularly memorable - for our Friday Date Night we went to the store and picked up all the works to make virgin drinks! We came home and toasted to eternity with our pina coladas and then played a fun game. However the funnest part for me was the high stakes we put to it - ya know, if you win I have to do this for you and vica versa. So I won (for like the 3rd time in our whole relationship!) , which meant John had to paint my toenails pink with white flowers! Ha Ha! I loved it! He did such a good job at it too, with his perfect artist hands. Then Saturday we went on a hike with friends, then he came and volunteered at the center while I was working and seriously saved the night. There were 6 HYPER children there when he came and they were stressing me about beyond words. But he showed up and they just thought he was the greatest thing since canned cheese. He keeps me sane. He'll be such a great dad. So that was our fun weekend and the update with our life. We're just as happy and in love as ever!!! Life is great :)

Free at last!!!!

Well, we've had lots of fun changes the past couple weeks, the biggest probably being that I got to walk at Southern Utah University's Graduation last week with a double major in psychology and family consumer science with an emphasis in early childhood development! (hopefully now that i'm not in school anymore i won't be saying that mouthful every time someone asks the simple question, 'what's your major?') To celebrate my family came down and spent the weekend with us - we even got to sneak over to Bryce Canyon National Park for a day! That was a blast, especially since John had never been there before. It was so great having my family here.
Other updates are that John is now baker at Great Harvest. He's done it for a little while now, but they are giving him more hours - what can i say? they love him.- so he's napping right now to catch up from some 4 a.m. shifts. Also I got a second job at the Family Support Center, which works with families and at-risk kids. It's definitely emotionally trying, but I'm loving it. I get to work with the most beautiful kids! It's really fulfilling too.
Pretty much we are just working hard and playing hard and committed to having the best summer ever!

Camping!!!!...Sorta

So!!! Here's the latest on our adventures! After a stressful week for John with school we got to leave classes (and the bipolar weather) behind and drove to Redcliffs with our good friends, Mitch and Ashton Olsen! Redcliffs is the place were John proposed to me, and it was our first day back since that life-changing day, so we hiked up to the spot and reenacted it for our friends! Then we found an AWESOME hike in the sun, and played around on the cool rocks - it was a BLAST! As it got cooler we went to our campsite and sat around a camp fire eating and talking. It was a great little escape, to such a beautiful place. You could really see God all around. And the Olsens went to town making things nice! We roasted hot dogs and talked about who in history we'd like to meet. We had planned on staying, but it turns out that at our campsite you're not allowed to camp...I'm sure whose bright idea that was, but I think he/she needs a good talking to. So we left and got Nelson's custard in St. George, then went home to sleep in our own comfortable beds! A perfect day of almost-camping!

Adventures in the sun!!!

Spring time is here and we are making the most every absolutely every moment of daylight we can catch! This week we've been on beautiful river walks, played frisbee and catch, hiked and played hide-in-seek at dixie rock, had the first camp fire and dutch oven food, and just soaked in the sun! We feel so alive; we actually got to step on lush green grass the other day! Knowing Utah weather we gotta make the most of this before a blizzard creeps up on us! We're just happy to be alive, in the sun, and in love! Life is GOOD!

Our Fairytale Life!

Hello there! So...here we are, living our little happy lives down in good old Cedar City. Anyone who would give a hoot to look at this probably already knows all what is going on in our lives, but for sake of something to write here's the updates:
John is going to school at Southern Utah University and rockin' it up. Seriously, I don't think I fully understood what a smarty pants I married. He is majoring in Biology and minoring in Psychology, and is just knocking the socks off his classes right now. Also he is working at Great Harvest Bread Company so we constantly have a fairly unlimited supply of delicious carbs in the house. Here's hopin' we don't bloat up like blimps. They are just loving him there, giving him extra shifts left and right. He was just made a baker so now a couple times a week he has to get up before the sun and go make the all the bread. He really likes his job and the people he works with.
I graduated in December and will walk this May, so my days are spent working and waiting for John to finish his homework so we can play. I'm working at North Elementary as the take-home-library specialist so that the kids can be progressing with their reading skills, and I'm a recess monitor, which is a B-L-A-S-T. The kids are so much fun and every day I come home with a new story.
So that is pretty much our update! Just loving life, loving the beautiful spring time, and loving each other! Life is great!
